Kate Greenstreet
Kate Greenstreet's second book, The Last 4 Things, will be out from Ahsahta Press in September. Her first, case sensitive, was published by Ahsahta in 2006. She is also the author of three chapbooks, most recently This is why I hurt you (Lame House Press, 2008). Her new work is in current or forthcoming issues of jubilat, VOLT, the Denver Quarterly, Court Green, and Fence.

A poem is made by composition, by putting things together, and when you read this book your hands tingle. The Last 4 Things brings craftsmanship to reverie; it turns dreaming into meaningful work. It is a serious approach to the grammar of our emotions and you do well to read it with your hands.

Kate Greenstreet
First I was setting fire to the house, but we didn't want the
authorities to know. So I was setting small fires. Setting the
blue rug in the living room on fire in several spots. I asked
my mother, should we try to save anything?

We can begin with the projection.

—What would illustrations of the inner life tell?
—It was forbidden, but there was no wall.
