from Interval

Rachel Levitsky
Of the beauty of a red
brick wall it

doesn't much speak nor
offer consolation but

in the flat resistance
to another's identity

and yet it repeats
in town after

industrial town the
street below always

quiet and formed
yes, formed.

The town around is
not a depressing one;

it's close to a wide and heavy
river, the old people

moved out. Their
houses have not

been removed.
